ETM- Overview

Navatek's entrapment tunnel monohull (ETM®) hull form is different from a conventional monohull. It features a center hull with sponsons (amas) on each side which form tunnels. The tunnels capture water at low speed; entrained air/water at moderate speed; and air at high speed. The ETM hull form provides efficient progressive lift; improved directional stability for navigation course keeping; and mitigates capsizing. Its wider beam at rest provides higher weight carrying capacity and better static stability. Its higher fineness ratio at speed provides higher transport efficiency and better seakeeping. Years of development and experimentation on entrapment tunnel monohulls have culminated in a line of three ETM hull forms with common characteristics

  • ETM BLADERUNNER (optimized for high speed) Hull form licensed from ICE Marine, UK
  • ETM SLED (optimized for high payload)
  • ETM SAM (optimized for high seakeeping)
