Eric
Schiff,
Vice President-Special Projects, Navatek Ltd., served as a Program Manager
responsible for the ONR-funded HYSWAC (Sea Flyer) program which involved conversion
of an existing Navy SES vessel to a Hybrid Small Waterplane Area
Craft through the addition of a 170-ton Navatek underwater lifting
body. He also managed construction of the ONR-funded $14 million
SLICE ATD Demonstrator vessel. Prior to that, he served as Project Manager in charge
of construction of the $3.8 million SWATH vessel Navatek II.

John
Zuanich,
Director, Marine Engineering, Navatek, Ltd., joined Navatek Ltd.
in 1996 as Construction Manager in the Dept. of Construction and
Vessel Operations. Major Navatek projects managed by him include
the rebuilding of the 140-passenger, 45-knot Westamaran-built Norwegian
hydrofoil M.V. Foilcat (drives, propulsion system, foils and struts)
and return of the vessel to commercial service as a commuter ferry
in Hawaii. He is also responsible for vessel maintenance and operations
of Navatek’s fleet of prototype craft, technology demonstrators
and test platforms as well as all vessels deployed by the company
in commercial service. Prior to joining Navatek, Ltd., from 1983-1985
he served as Vice-President, Maintenance and Repairs for Guam-based
Z Fishing Corp., which operates a fleet of twelve 250-foot super-seiner
fishing vessels trawling throughout the Pacific. He received his
Bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University
of Southern California in 1968.
